The Global Commercialization Certification Program is an applied education in the discipline of commercialization. Across twelve instructor-led sessions, participants learn how professionals assess a technology, protect and position intellectual property, validate markets with evidence, size opportunities, build business models and financial projections, evaluate funding pathways, and negotiate the deals that carry research to market.
Participants learn by doing: teams of 2–6 apply each session’s discipline to a real technology, building a commercialization case that culminates on Decision Day — a defended, data-driven go/no-go decision before a panel of investors and experts. Certification is awarded on the successful completion of the modules and the quality of the case.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own technology to work on in the program. Alternatively, participants can explore public databases of licensable technologies or agree to be assigned to an existing team.
Each live session advances the team’s commercialization case, with applied work between sessions and practitioner feedback throughout.
Founders, investors, operators, and technology transfer leaders teach every applied discipline — with sector specialists optimized for the cohort.
Decision Day panels operate like an investment committee and score the go and no-go decisions on the data and defensibility as any due diligence process.
Every team leaves with the panel’s feedback and concrete recommendations for the road ahead if they choose to continue.
A defended commercialization case, evaluated by people who make these decisions professionally.
Most programs end with a pitch competition, demonstrating skills of persuasion and conviction. The Global Commercialization Certification Program ends with Decision Day, where teams present the evidence behind their market validation on a real technology and defend a data-driven go/no-go decision on whether they will continue working on it after the program.
A rigorously argued no-go passes. Certification is scored on quality of evidence, rigor of analysis, honesty of the assessment, and clarity about what would change the answer. Teams present before a panel of experts and investors and receive feedback and recommendations on next steps if they choose to continue.
Either answer can earn the credential. The evidence decides.
